Florida-based Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) has launched the multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV) HARVEY SUB-SEA (Hull 249), built for Harvey Gulf International Marine.

The launching ceremony was held at ESG’s Allanton facility. Deacon Tim Warner of Saint John’s Catholic Church of Panama City, Florida, performed the blessing of the vessel.

Cash Verret, son of Harvey Gulf’s Executive Vice President, Chad Verret, christened the vessel.

The HARVEY SUB-SEA is a first of two 340’ Class MPSVs under construction at ESG, designed by VARD Marine.

The delivery of HARVEY SUB-SEA is expected in 2016, after outfitting and sea trials are completed. The sister ship, HARVEY BLUE-SEA, is currently under construction.

The vessel, with a length of 103.7 meters, and a beam of 22.3 meters, will feature a 250MT AHC Knuckle Boom Offshore Crane with lift capabilities in up to 4000 meters of water, a helideck and accommodations of up to 150 crew and offshore workers.
