Singapore-based Kreuz Subsea recently undertook a hot tapping project on live pipelines, completing three hot taps and interconnecting spools for an EPC contractor and an undisclosed oil and gas major, on the West coast of India.

Oceaneering’s smart taps (2 x 12” + 1 x 14”) with furmanite tooling, were installed from Kreuz Subsea’s flagship asset, Kreuz Installer.

Work was located in offshore D1 field of ONGC, in 110m of water depth. The project included five interconnecting spools connecting three hot taps adjacent to the platforms.

The project was completed with zero incidents with an emphasis to all safety procedures.

Kreuz Subsea has previously installed a 42” hot tap on a live gas line in South East Asia.
