Aban Offshore’s step down subsidiary has received a firm letter of award from Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the deployment of the deepwater drillship Aban Abraham.

The Aban Abraham, which was retrofited in 2009 by Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore to enable the unit to drill in water depths of up to 2,000 meters, will work for a firm period of 2 years.

According to the company’s Bombay Stock Exchange filing, the expected revenues from this deployment is estimated at USD 87 Million (equivalent to INR 592 Crores).

The deployment is expected to start during the fourth quarter of calendar year 2016, the company added.
