NOPSEMA revealed a recent incident where a vessel lost position while diving activities were being conducted approximately 130 metres from a hydrocarbon facility offshore Western Australia.

According to report, the loss of position was caused by a deactivation of the forward/aft automatic positioning function by unintentionally deselecting the ‘surge’ button on the DP (Dynamic Position) console located on the bridge which then deactivated the ‘auto position’ mode.

Subsea Innovation has secured an order from Subsea 7’s i-Tech Services to provide 5 ROV installed structural pipeline repair clamps for an emergency pipeline repair systems (EPRS) supporting pipelines off the North and Northwest coasts of Australia.

Subsea Innovation will deliver the project from its recently built headquarters, Innovation House, located on the Faverdale Industrial Estate near Darlington.

The scope of the first project included provision of light well intervention services to Woodside Petroleum. The second contract for decommissioning services at the Balnaves field the company won from Woodside Energy Julimar.
