Ocean Installer has been awarded a turnkey project for procurement and installation of a spread mooring chain system for a floating storage unit (FSU) in Malta.

The mooring installation and hook-up takes place in Marsaxlokk Bay, where the FSU will be providing re-gasified LNG for the fueling of electricity generators onshore at Delimara power station.

As the company informed, the client is ElectroGas Malta.

“With this project, we further consolidate our position as a provider of competitive mooring services, and by that we again prove our strategy of casting a wider net in a challenging market successful,” says Steinar Riise, CEO of Ocean Installer.

The project will be managed from Ocean Installer’s Stavanger office and onshore engineering will start with immediate effect.
