SapuraKencana Secures Pemex Contract in Mexico

SapuraKencana’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SapuraKencana Mexicana S.A.P.I. de C.V., has been awarded a contract worth approximately USD 113 million from Pemex.

The contract is for the procurement and construction of a 36” x 18 km sour gas pipeline (KMZ – 76) from platform E-KU-A2 to platform CA-AJ-1 (J4) in Mexico.

The contract is a part of Ku-Maloob-Zaap (KMZ) project located off the coast of Campeche, north-east of Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico.

It covers an area of 121 km2, and includes five fields: Ku, Maloob, Zaap, Bacab, Lum and Zazil-Ha.

The scope of work comprises the transportation and installation of pipelines, crossings, topside modifications and subsea works, including procurement and project management.

According to SapuraKencana’s Bursa Malaysia filing, the works are scheduled to start in July 2016 and last until March 2017.
