Plocan Hosts SWARMS

Plocan is hosting several activities between September 22 and October 04 that form part of the European Smart Robots Working in Co-operative Networks Project (SWARMS), funded by the European Commission and the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

The general objective of the SWARMs is to expand the use of unmanned submarines and facilitate the creation, planning and execution of maritime and offshore operations by reducing operating costs and enhancing security, Plocan said.

SWARMS is an industry-led project involving 30 partners from 10 European countries.

The Plocan test bed will be used between the September 22-29 for a range of trials and demonstrations aimed at validating the different technological concepts that have been developed over the life-cycle of the project.
