PLOCAN Adds Hyperbaric Chamber

The PLOCAN consortium has acquired a containerized hyperbaric chamber in order to increase the safety of the underwater activities in the surroundings of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands, as well as in other locations where the chamber could be easily moved as it is containerized.

The hyperbaric chamber is part of the equipment strategy included in the PLOCAN roadmap in order to answer to the operational needs of the infrastructure, which will carry out several underwater activities.

This initiative is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Operational Programme of the Canary Islands ERDF 2007-2013, on axis 1 “Development of the Knowledge Economy” Priority Theme 02 with an 85 % co-funding rate.

The tender dossier was L-CSU-PA-3/2015 and the selected contractor was S.A. Ibérica de Suministros y Construcciones IBERCO. The acquired model is the IB-180.
