BGP Begins Seismic Shoot Offshore Cuba

BGP Marine has started the acquisition of a 2D multi-client survey offshore Cuba, following the signing of a contract with Cuba-Petroleo Company (CUPET).

The project comprises 25,000 km of 2D long-offset, high resolution, broadband seismic and gravity data.

The survey specifically targets the Cuba Economic Zone of the Gulf of Mexico areas, BGP noted.

According to the company, the acquisition is carried out using the BGP Pioneer vessel and the final data will be available to clients in Q4 2017.

The survey has been designed to acquire high quality data that will be fundamental in assisting the interpretation of the geology in the offshore Cuba, and the identification of prospective structural and stratigraphic trends that can be used for regional evaluation and future detailed seismic survey designs.
