FarSounder-1000 Sonars for Ponant Expedition Ships

US-based marine electronics manufacturer FarSounder has secured an order to provide their flagship FarSounder-1000 sonars for the Ponant Explorers, a new series of four yachts designed specifically for luxury expeditions.

This sonar offers 3D forward looking navigation information out to 1000 meters ahead of the vessel.

The FarSounder-1000 is available in two different transducer module options. The SH5 transducer module has a curved face. The SH6 transducer module has a flat face.

FarSounder Norwegian dealer Wärtsilä Valmarine AS is the integrator.

Shipbuilder is Vard Søviknes Norway for these 131 meter ice-class expedition cruise ships.
