DiveSource Joins Transition Fund Scheme as Training Provider

International diving consultancy, DiveSource have been accepted as a training provider on the Transition Fund scheme.

The Transition Training Fund was set up by the Scottish Government and is managed by Skills Development Scotland, the project aims to support those affected by the oil and gas downturn.

Now approved, DiveSource will be able to provide their Client Rep training and Dive Control Simulator training for competency verification through the scheme and aid those who were made redundant, the company explained.

The approval scheme provides individuals with an opportunity to upskill or reduce skill fade at no cost to themselves at a time where competition is high and disposable income is low within the North East.

Sarah Hutcheon, managing director of DiveSource, said: “Despite the challenging market, there is still a strong need for diving competency verification within the North East, it is a specialist skill set and it’s important that all divers and supervisors are fully trained and up to standard with the most recent regulations. For those who have been made redundant, it gives them the option to see self-progression and focus on the future of their careers whilst not having to worry about funding.”

Robert Orr, strategic relations manager Energy at Skills Development Scotland said: “It’s great to have DiveSource on board as one of our suppliers, the fund is continuously looking for training providers to aid individuals throughout this downturn.”
