Swire Seabed Strengthens Commercial Division

Swire Seabed has welcomed two new members to its commercial team – Mark Colbridge as commercial manager, Middle East & Asia Pacific and Are Nordahl as head of sales in Swire Seabed.

Colbridge started in January 2018 and is based in Singapore at the newly established Swire Seabed Singapore office, making this the first appointment of an employee in the Asia Pacific region. The office is located within Swire Pacific Offshore’s (SPO) Head office.

Colbridge will be responsible for spearheading business development, marketing and sales efforts of Swire Seabed in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions. Reporting to the CEO of Swire Seabed, Arvid Pettersen, who is based in Bergen, Norway, Colbridge will also work with various business entities within SPO to market and promote Swire Seabed’s diverse range of subsea project services.

Prior to joining Swire Seabed, Colbridge was the business acquisition manager at DOF Subsea Asia Pacific at their Singapore office for more than six years.

In parallel, Are Nordahl was appointed head of sales. Based in Bergen, Norway, Nordahl should drive sales and strategic business development for Swire Seabed in the Americas, Europe and West Africa markets.

Nordahl comes to Swire Seabed from OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company, where he held the roles of regional manager, Africa and Sales Manager, Asia Pacific for their pumps and subsea systems. Prior to that, he was president at Framo Engineering in Houston for seven years.

“Swire Seabed is fast expanding its business globally. We’re excited to have Mark at our parent company, SPO’s Head office in Singapore as part of the Swire Seabed team and Are at our headquarters in Bergen. Both will be valuable assets to our team as they come with many years of expertise in the oil & gas industry and possess highly relevant subsea-related experience. We look forward to their contributions in driving Swire Seabed’s marketing and sales efforts and expanding Swire Seabed’s global presence,” says CEO, Arvid Pettersen, Swire Seabed.

In addition, Swire Seabed has also increased their office space in Bergen by 50%. The company now employs more than 250 personnel including offshore project and marine crew as well as back office personnel in Baku and Bergen.
