TE SubCom Completes Construction of TGN-EA (Jeddah) and TGN-Gulf Undersea Cables

TE SubCom, a TE Connectivity Ltd. company and an industry pioneer in undersea communications technology has completed construction of the TGN-EA (Jeddah) and TGN-Gulf undersea cables for Tata Communications. TGN-EA (Jeddah) connects Saudi Arabia, Egypt and India, while TGN-Gulf links Oman, India, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain.

Both TGN-EA (Jeddah) and TGN-Gulf are high-capacity, multi terabit systems that will add diversity to Tata Communications’ existing undersea network infrastructure and connect it to key business hubs in the region.

“Demand for capacity in the Middle East has increased significantly in recent years and the time could not be better for us to expand our global network of undersea cables and continue to support business and economic development,” said Radwan Moussalli, Managing Director, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Tata Communications. “Both TGN-EA (Jeddah) and TGN-Gulf will encourage broadband penetration, enable robust internet services and support enterprise communications throughout the region.”

“Through the completion of TGN-EA (Jeddah) and TGN-Gulf, TE SubCom and Tata Communications have delivered an important technological advancement to the Middle East,” said Debra Brask, Managing Director, TE SubCom. “Both undersea cables will create route diversity and significantly improve overall connectivity in the quickly growing region.”
