France: EDF Seeks Contactor for Offshore Wind Geotechnical and Geophysical Survey

EDF EN France is inviting tenders for offshore wind-geotechnical and geophysical survey – Vendée which will include preparation works and studies for a proposed offshore wind energy site.

The purpose of this tender is to carry out an offshore geotechnical service which will consist of shallow penetration (typically 5 m) tests and samplings (cone penetration test (CPT), vibrocorer …), and deep penetration (to 40 m) boreholes (deep coring, CPT) and associated pre-investigation, seismic and seabed surveys. Estimated quantity of boreholes: Deep boreholes: 2 – 5; Shallow bordeholes: 5 – 10.

Earlier this year, consortium consisting of EDF, Alstom, Areva and Iberdrola have won three tenders for offshore wind farm development zones in French waters.
