Mr. Simon James has joined GSP in January, becoming the Senior Operations Manager for the Offshore Construction Department.

Mr. Simon James is a highly motivated and dynamic Chartered Senior Manager with a strong academic background. He specialized in Mechanical Engineering, holding Master Degrees in Project Management and Oil and Gas Laws from the University of Aberdeen. Mr. James holds multiple certifications in petroleum processing technology as well.

Mr. James has considerable experience in the Oil and Gas Sector, possessing a unique, cross transferable skill set and knowledge base. He started working in 1982 as a merchant seaman at BP Shipping, advancing up to Diving Superintendent and Diving Project Coordinator positions in 2000, respectively in 2003. Mr. Simon James has held various management positions within Subsea 7 UK Ltd. between 2004 and 2009, CNR UK Ltd. between 2009 and 2011, Total E&P UK in 2011 and 2012, and Iremis Ltd. in 2012.

Mr. Simon James is full member of the Association for Project Management, of the Project Management Institute, affiliate member of the Energy Institute, chartered fellow of CMI (Chartered Management Institute) and associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
