PSA Carries Out Audit of Det norske’s Ivar Aasen Development

On 17-18 June 2013, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of the project management and engineering activities of Det norske oljeselskap (Det norske) for the Ivar Aasen development.

The objective of the activity was to assess whether Det norske’s management of the working environment and materials handling for the Ivar Aasen development in the engineering phase was sufficient to ensure compliance with applicable management requirements in the relevant project phase.

Results

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

- materials handling

- landing of drill cuttings

Improvement points were identified in connection with:

- planning

- follow-up of sub-contractors

- system for follow-up of interfaces

- working environment analyses

- stipulating and communicating requirements
