Hawaiki, TE SubCom Ink Subsea Cable Supply Contract

Hawaiki announced the signing of a supply contract with TE SubCom for the subsea cable between Australia and New Zealand.

As pacific Scoop reports, the supplier will design and lay the cable. The cable which will be able to transmit 10 Tbps per fibre pair is planned to be completed by the end of 2015.

According to Hawaiki, the submarine cable will be based on 100 Gbps wavelength technology.
