Technip has been awarded a large engineering, procurement, installation and construction (EPCI) contract by EnQuest for the Kraken development located in the North Sea, 400 kilometers North-East of Aberdeen and 130 kilometers East of Shetland, at a water depth of approximately 120 meters.

Technip’s operating center in Aberdeen, United-Kingdom, will execute the contract. A number of vessels from the Technip fleet will be utilized for the offshore campaign, including Technip’s Deep Energy, one of the largest pipelay vessels ever built.

Imperium has signed a worldwide licensing arrangement with Subsea 7 to adapt Imperium’s unique ultrasound camera inspection system for subsea applications.

The agreement covers a variety of diver and ROV mounted uses in an offshore energy setting. Once Imperium’s tools are adapted for subsea usage, the two companies will perform a series of trials on both legacy and advanced materials.

Fugro, the world’s largest integrator of geotechnical, survey, subsea and geoscience services, has expanded its services for the offshore oil and gas sector with the addition of high resolution subsea laser scanning.

This specialist technology can be applied to a wide range of subsea services including metrology, field mapping, structure mapping, change detection and integrity management.

Divers from the non-profit Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) discovered a 2,000 year old sacrificial altar while exploring an ancient wreck in 400 feet of water.

The artifact is one of many unique discoveries that promise to help redefine what we understand about ancient trade routes and commerce in the third century B.C.

OneSubsea, a Cameron and Schlumberger company, has signed a 10-year global frame agreement with BG Group to supply subsea production equipment and aftermarket services.

By adopting OneSubsea’s unique integrated solutions capabilities, the agreement establishes a framework for BG to pursue a standardized approach to subsea production technology and services for their new field development portfolio on a worldwide basis.
