Statens vegvesen (The Norwegian Public Roads Administration) has been assigned to review the E39 as a ferry-free road connection along the coast of Vestlandet, Western Norway.

This includes, as one of the main priorities, the construction of an underwater tunnel that crosses the Romsdal Fjord.

The crossing alternative has been selected, and the next step requires a more in depth examination.

Therefore, States vegvesen has invited tenders with specialist services to take part in the preparation and follow-up of core drilling.

Firstly, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration will inspect the possibility of project being carried out by drilling from land with a long hole in a directional controlled, curved direction.

The tenders will be contracted for preparations, inspection and hole steering. However, the client can impose other services on the service provider that naturally fall under its area of competence.

The work will be carried out in close cooperation with the project group and resource persons such as an engineer geologist, a geologist and property consultant at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration in Molde.

The Project is a one year contract, with an undisclosed value.

The deadline for submission of tenders is January 2, 2014.
