The Harwich Dock Company and Offshore Marine Management have secured a significant long term contract with DONG Energy to provide cable storage and management services at the Harwich Navyard in Essex.
The first project of this long-term agreement will see OMM providing cable engineering, commissioning, consultancy and general cables services at Harwich Navyard to support DONG Energy’s wind farm operations and maintenance works.
John Lawton, Chief Business Officer at OMM, said: “We’re delighted to have renewed our partnership with the Harwich Dock Company, and to have helped the port secure this important contract. We’re looking forward to working closely with the team at DONG Energy and helping them to benefit from our expertise and innovative approach to cable management.”
The contract represents a significant milestone for the former naval port, as Harwich looks to develop its capabilities in the renewables sector.
Bill Binks from HDC said: “This is an important contract for us as we look to attract more renewable energy companies to Harwich. Our strategic partnership with leading suppliers to the industry, like OMM, is a key part of this new direction for the company.”
