Anholt OWF Cable Change Faces Delays

Danish transmission operator, Energinet.dk has informed that it must postpone the replacement of two parts totaling approximately 4.5 km of subsea cable that connects the Anholt offshore wind farm to the grid on land.

“Cable supplier is still preparing the replacement cable. There was an error in replacing the cable, which has moved the process,” said the company in a press release. Energinet.dk initially expected to start work on dismantling the new cable pieces in late September.

“We can not begin the replacement of the sea at the end of September, as we have previously announced,” says Torben Glar Nielsen, technical director of Energinet.dk.

The company said it will release a new date for when the work can go ahead.
