UK cable seal manufacturer Roxtec has designed and supplied a sealing solution for the Rampion offshore wind farm, located 13 kilometers off the coast of Sussex.

The Rampion site has a target capacity of 400 MW, generated by 116 wind turbines, expected to be completed in 2018.

Roxtec UK managing director, Clive Sharp, said: “This contract involved supplying seals for single-core cables, both high and medium voltage, in the bulkhead and deck areas of the platforms.”

In November 2016, installation of all 116 turbine foundations was completed. Transition pieces were later fitted onto foundations and now sit approximately 20 metres above sea level ready to hold the turbines.
