Trevor McAuley Joins TMEI’s Marine Cargo Underwriting Team in UK

Tokio Marine Europe Insurance Limited (TMEI) announced the appointment of Trevor McAuley to join its marine cargo underwriting team, based in Scotland. Trevor will be responsible for underwriting, developing and servicing marine cargo, subsea and general business in Scotland and the North of England.

Trevor, who has over 18 years of underwriting experience, joins from Catlin, where he spent the last 10 years as a founder-member of their first regional operations outside of London. He also spent time at RSA, as well as Independent Insurance and developed business in marine, property, casualty and crisis management.

Trevor will be based in Glasgow and will focus on developing and maintaining broker relationships in Scotland and the North of England.

Andy Lane, Chief Underwriter, Marine, commented: “Developing our regional cargo portfolio is a key strategy for development of our UK marine account and we see a lot of opportunity for us in northern England and Scotland. We have also developed a strong presence in the specialised areas of subsea and marine equipment, with many of our clients based in Scotland. Having Trevor in place to help us develop both portfolios for us is a very positive development.“

Alastair Blundell, Executive Operations Officer, added: “We are delighted to welcome Trevor to Tokio Marine Europe. His appointment is a further example of our strategy to position experienced underwriters in key regional centres who have the authority to make decisions and provide service at the point of sale.”
