Following the launching ceremony, Normand Maximus, an offshore subsea construction vessel, started its journey from Romania to Norway.

Solstad Offshore informed through its social media that the NB 830 started the journey to Norway for final outfitting at Vard Brattvaag.

Normand Maximus, which was built at Vard in Romania, will become the largest in the Solstad’s fleet.

The vessel will have a 550-ton top tension vertical lay-system that will enable it to conduct installation of large diameter flexible pipes in ultra-deepwater environments.

After the delivery in Q2 2016, Normand Maximus will work for Italian Saipem on an 8-year charter agreement.
